Ivory Lodge is located on the Sabi Sands side of Lion Sands Game Reserve, which protects 6 400ha/15 800ac of, arguably, Africa’s most pristine Big Five territory. Lion Sands Game Reserve is the only private reserve to have a foot in both the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and Kruger National Park. The Sand River flows through the reserve for 11km (7mi) from northwest to southeast, while the Sabie River flows for 12km (7.5mi) on the southern boundary.
