A Boutique hotel in Norway

Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio has designed a concept for a boutique hotel within a cliff edge in Norway. The idea proposes a seamless design between the 10,000-year-old shaped granite and the modern materials used, creating an extension of the cliff face. The studio's founder Hayri Atak first imagined the design when he received a photo from a friend of Norway's famous landmark. Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock), which towers an impressive 604 meters over the Lysefjord, then grew from an idea to the concept, striving to find a way to bring guests closer to the unique rock formation.

What stands out the most with this concept is the stretched terrace and hanging glass pool on its bottom floor, which would allow for the more adventurous swimmers to encounter a truly unique and immersive experience, within a gravity-free environment suspended hundreds of meters above ground level.

Hayri Atak Architectural Design studios have imagined the entrance to the hotel accessible on top of the cliff. Naturally flat, it would also make a fantastic observation platform and not disrupt what the tourist hotspot is known for today.

From the viewing platform/entrance, guests would then be led down into the cliff inside the hotel that would accommodate nine guest suites and a shared lounge area. All rooms would be divided over three floors and open out onto balconies offering panoramic views of the fjord and surrounding mountains.
