Located 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, in the wilderness of Finnish Lapland rests the luxuriously private boutiique hotel, jávri Lodge. Open to adults only, this exclusive lodge was where Urho Kekkonen, the longest-serving president in Finland, escaped with those closest to him, as well as royalty and world leaders, to feel the tangible presence of nature. Today the standards and service remains nothing short of presidential with a personalized service, cuisine that celebrates the best of local delicacies and all the outdoor activities one might expect to find in Lapland. The Finnish wilderness is on the doorstep just waiting to be explored; to glimpse the Northern Lights, to hibernate in winter’s cold and darkness and to awaken once more in the never-setting sun as summer replaces winter.
